Privacy Policy
Weekplot is a weekly planning app. This policy describes what data it collects and how that data is used. The short version: we store what's needed to run your account, we measure which features get used but never what you write in them, and we never sell or share your data.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address, and a password (stored only as a secure hash by AWS Cognito, our authentication provider). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google instead; we never see your Google password.
- Your content — the lists and tasks you create. This is your data. You can edit or delete any of it at any time, and deleting your account removes all of it.
- Operational logs — standard server logs (request metadata, error traces) kept for two weeks to operate and debug the service.
- Usage analytics — which features you use, described below.
That's the complete list. There are no advertising identifiers, no ad networks, and no data brokers.
Usage analytics
We measure how Weekplot is used so we can decide what to improve. This is product analytics, not advertising or profiling, and it is processed by PostHog in the United States on our behalf.
What is recorded: that an action happened, and enough context to make it useful — for example "a task was scheduled by dragging it, on the week view, on a phone", "the month view was opened", or "a save failed". Also your browser and device type, approximate location from your IP address (country and region, not a precise position), the page address within the app, and crash reports.
What is never recorded: the words you write. Task titles, list names, routine names, note contents and anything you type into the search box are never sent, and the automatic click-tracking that would have captured them is switched off. Events carry counts, categories and yes/no flags — never your text.
Once you have an account, these events are linked to an internal account identifier so we can answer questions like "do people who sign up keep using it". Your email address is stored alongside that identifier so we can find and delete your record on request; it is not used to contact you or shared with anyone.
Turning it off: open the preferences panel (your account button, then Preferences) and set Usage analytics to Off. Nothing further is sent from that browser. The setting is per-browser, so set it on each device you want it off on. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we honour it and collect nothing regardless of this setting.
Analytics data is retained for 12 months. Deleting your account also deletes your analytics record and its history.
Cookies and local storage
Weekplot uses browser storage for three things: keeping you signed in (authentication tokens), remembering preferences like your theme, and analytics. The analytics cookies are first-party, identify a browser rather than a person, and exist only to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. Turning off Usage analytics as described above stops them being used. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We send transactional email only: account verification codes, password resets, and email-change confirmations. No marketing email, ever. To stop receiving transactional email, delete your account.
Where your data lives
Your account and content are stored and processed on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-east-2, Ohio). Usage analytics are processed by PostHog, also in the United States. Those two are our only subprocessors.
Retention and deletion
- Deleting a task or list removes it from view immediately; the record is fully purged within 30 days.
- Deleting your account (available in account settings) removes your account and all of your content. Encrypted backups age out within 35 days.
Your rights
You can correct your data in the app, turn off usage analytics at any time, or delete your account entirely — all self-serve, no request form needed. Deleting your account removes your content and your analytics record together. For a copy of your data, or anything else, email us and we'll help.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll note the new effective date here and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
